PANDAS March 2026 Club Updates
Dear PANDAS Members,
The clocks go forward at the end of the month (29th March) and hopefully the weather will improve. We are already planning for the rest of the year and there is list below of events we plan to hold at the field.
Easter Monday Fun Fly Events – 6th April 2026
If the weather is fine we are looking to organise a few ‘Fun Fly Events’ during the afternoon on Easter Monday (6th April). These will be open to all members to take part in.
It would just be for an hour or so during the afternoon (1330 to 1430) and would not have much impact on normal club flying. There will be a few small prizes for the winners. Check the club website for details:
Membership
We have 174 members so far for 2026 with a few more renewals / new members who have indicated they will be joining us shortly. We should start the main flying season with around 180 members.
Club Meetings 2026
We will continue with the club meetings and if you have any ideas for any future meeting please let us now. At the April club meeting (Tuesday 7th April) we will be giving a talk / presentation on basic radio set up. If you want to know how to set rates, expo, basic mixes & throttle cuts etc. please come along and hopefully we can help.

Grass Cutting & Field Maintenance
We are hoping to cut the grass anytime soon once it is dry enough to stop any damage from the mower tyres. As in previous years we are using a combination of a private contractor and council to cut the grass.
We will also be looking to roll the field shortly which should hopefully help to even out any bumps.
Training
We will continue with the traditional Wednesday training day and trainers / instructors are at the field on most Saturday & Sunday afternoons. If the need is there we may look to provide a further evening training session during the summer months. Thursday evening (1900 to 2100) is one possible option.

All the club events and No Fly Days (including horse racing days) are on the club website events page. The first Horse racing event (‘No Fly Day’ for us) is on Tuesday 7th April.
